Product FAQs

Q1: What makes Pure Bébé the best baby laundry detergent for sensitive skin and eczema?

A: Pure Bébé is specifically formulated for newborns and sensitive skin. It’s enzyme-free, pH-neutral, and our range has been tested by the Eczema Association of Australasia. Its plant-based ingredients are safe, non-irritating, and biodegradable — perfect for eczema-prone babies and children.

Q2: Is Pure Bébé safe for newborns and infants?

A: Yes — Pure Bébé is ultra-gentle. It contains no harsh chemicals, optical brighteners or synthetic dyes. It’s a non-toxic, vegan formula enriched with Aloe and Chamomile to calm, soothe and protect baby’s skin.

Q3: What does enzyme-free mean, and why is that important for babies?

A: Many baby detergents claim to be gentle, but still include protease enzymes, which can irritate delicate baby skin. Pure Bébé avoids all enzymes and instead uses natural surfactants and stain-lifting agents that clean effectively without triggering irritation or dryness.

Q4: How does Pure Bébé help support better sleep for babies?

A: Our signature formula includes Aloe Vera and Chamomile, known for their soothing, calming properties. These ingredients help create a gentler bedtime experience — designed to enhance fabric softness, comfort and deepen restfulness

Q4: What’s in the Cherish scent? Is it really safe for babies?
A: Yes. Cherish is a hypoallergenic, phthalate-free, naturally derived and cosmetic grade fragrance that smells like soft florals, creamy vanilla and fresh powder. It's scent has often been likened to baby powder. It’s gentle on sensitive skin and little noses.

Q5: How long will one bottle of Pure Bébé last?
A: Pure Bébé is highly concentrated. One 500ml bottle delivers up to 65 washes and is suitable for handwashing & machine washing. It's economical, eco-conscious, and long-lasting.

Q7: Can Pure Bébé be used in both front and top loader washing machines?

A: Absolutely. Pure Bébé is suitable for all machine types — front loaders, top loaders.

Q8: Is it safe for handwashing baby clothes or cloth nappies?

A: Yes — Pure Bébé is ideal for baby delicate items like wool baby blankets, bamboo wraps, swaddles, bedding and cloth nappies. It is designed to rinse clean and leaves no build-up or residue.

Q1. How do I wash silk without damaging it?

A: Use cold water and a silk-specific detergent like Silk Savvy. Hand wash or select a delicate cycle in a laundry bag. Avoid regular detergent, bleach, or enzymes. Dry flat and out of direct sunlight. For More Details, Read Our Blog HERE

Q2. What’s the best detergent for silk in Australia?

A: Silk Savvy is Australia’s leading silk detergent made especially to care, protect and preserve your favourite silk pieces. It’s pH-neutral, enzyme-free, plant-based, and proudly made right here in Sydney.

Q3. Can I machine wash silk pillowcases? A: It’s always best to hand wash silk. However, if you must machine wash, gently spot treat any stains first using our Stain Savvy (specially formulated for delicate fabrics). Then place your silk pillowcase in a delicates bag, select the gentle or delicate cycle, wash in cold water using Silk Savvy, and never use fabric softeners or a dryer. Always air dry flat. For More Information On Washing Silk Pillowcases, Read Our Blog Here

Q4. Why Silk Savvy – Can I use regular detergent on silk?

A: No. Regular detergents are not formulated for the delicate protein fibres in silk. They often contain enzymes and high pH levels that can weaken, dull, or damage silk. Always use Silk Savvy to keep your silk looking and feeling its best.

Q5. Can I use a wool wash or wool detergent to wash silk?

A: It depends—but as a rule of thumb, no. That’s exactly why we created Silk Savvy: to ensure every ingredient is specially selected to gently cleanse and nourish delicate silk fibres. Many wool washes contain lanolin, cedar oil, synthetic softeners, or even bleach—any of which can damage or destroy silk. We recommend using Silk Savvy for safe, effective silk care.

Q6. Is Silk Savvy safe for lingerie and bras?

A: Absolutely. Silk Savvy is gentle enough for silk lingerie, underwear, and delicate fabrics. It protects elasticity and is safe for sensitive skin.

Q7. How do I wash silk shirts, dresses, or scarves? Can I use Silk Savvy? A: Yes, you can use Silk Savvy! Hand wash with Silk Savvy in cold water or machine wash on a delicates cycle with a delicates bag. Gently press out excess water with a towel and lay flat to dry.

Q8. Can I use Silk Savvy on mulberry silk or silk blends?

A: Yes. Silk Savvy is suitable for mulberry silk, silk charmeuse, and most silk blends. Always spot test first to ensure colour and fabric compatibility.

Q9. Is Silk Savvy safe for sensitive skin?

A: Yes. Silk Savvy is hypoallergenic, toxin-free, and made with naturally derived, skin-friendly ingredients—making it ideal for those with sensitive or eczema-prone skin.

Q10. Does Silk Savvy remove sweat, body oils, or makeup?

A: Yes. Silk Savvy uses natural, curated ingredients that leave silk feeling soft, supple, and lustrous. It also has built-in anti-static capabilities to help reduce cling and frizz.

Q12. How much Silk Savvy do I use?

A: Silk Savvy is ultra-concentrated and low-foaming. You only need a very small amount per wash—just a little goes a long way while still delivering expert-level results.

Q: Stain Savvy can remove stains from many different fabrics, is it also suitable for removing stains from upholstery or carpet?

Yes they can! Our stain sticks are without doubt the everyday living essential every home needs! Aside from using them to spot treat stains prior to washing or as a handy interim stain remover on the go, you can indeed use them to also treat stains on fabric upholstery.

They can also be used on other non-fabric services. We have used them to clean carpet, upholstery, leather, white sneakers and even remove food stains from kitchen benches. Always patch test first to ensure the material is not adversely affected.

Because while enzymes like protease can help break down stains, they’re known to irritate sensitive skin and aren’t recommended for babies or those with eczema. We use gentle, plant-derived surfactants that clean deeply without compromise.

Every Bon Savvy 500ml laundry liquid delivers 65 plus washes, thanks to our ultra-concentrated formula.

Not currently — and here’s why.

While refill programs are often marketed as eco-friendly, our research shows that many refill sachets/pouches are made with materials that are not readily biodegradable and require highly specific conditions to break down. In reality, they often end up in landfill or contaminate recycling streams.

In many cases, the carbon footprint of refill logistics outweighs the sustainability gain, particularly when transporting diluted liquids in soft packaging.

Instead, Bon Savvy chooses to:

>Craft - concentrated formulas that deliver up to 65 washes per 500ml
>Use - recycled plastic (from post-consumer waste) or recyclable PET, aluminum, glass or cardboard (all easily recyclable or reusable)
Our philosophy? Make each drop go further — and reduce waste from the start. It’s smarter, cleaner, and more honest care for people and the planet.
